Empowerment

Begins Here.

Participant Stories: Julie

Before CWEE, I had very low self-esteem. I was in an abusive marriage and it took every ounce of courage I had to leave. By the time I left, I was so depleted that I didn’t believe I deserved better. I was 19 and lost. I didn’t know how to ask for help, but I needed guidance and support.

The camaraderie I found at CWEE made all the difference. No one judged me – instead, they comforted me. CWEE staff helped me create a plan with clear steps. They helped me see that I really did have worth.

After overcoming my fear of interviewing through CWEE’s mock interviews, I was hired at Mountain Bell. Now, I am running my own business as a real estate agent and I couldn’t be happier. My son got his Bachelor’s at Colorado School of Mines in Golden. He lives in NYC and will never be homeless again. CWEE’s program definitely has a ripple effect!
