Welcome to CWEE’s Community Connections for the week of November 13, 2024 for program participants.

Programming Information:

CWEE is located at 1175 Osage St. Suite 300 Denver, CO 80204
Onsite office hours are Monday through Thursday 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
CWEE’s physical office is closed on Fridays, including the resource room.

  • Career Readiness Programming: Our new program is a 12-day in-person program that will provide engaging and supportive classes focused on digital literacy, job readiness, and social emotional learning. Reminders & Announcements

Peer Support Group at CWEE!

CWEE is offering a biweekly drop-in peer support group for participants. The group will be facilitated by Renee, CWEE’s Social Emotional Learning Facilitator, and is a confidential space to talk about what is happening in your life with other participants, get and give support, and share resources. And have pizza!

  • What: Participant Peer Support Group
  • Pizza lunch provided!
  • Childcare is not currently provided, but infants are welcome to come with their parents!
  • When: Every other Wednesday 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. (Upcoming Dates: 11/20, 12/4, 12/18)
  • Where: The Wellness Suite at CWEE, on the 2nd floor across from the Participant breakroom
  • Who: Open to all CWEE participants. Don’t worry if you missed the last one, come to any Wednesday group that works for you!

Workshop: Background Support with Breakthrough

Breakthrough will be hosting a workshop for all CWEE participants. This session is perfect for anyone unsure how to address their background, are not certain about what might be on their records, or who have faced barriers to employment due to their history. Workshop: Career Opportunities with AlloSource

AlloSource is a CWEE Employer Partner and will be hosting a workshop to share their open career opportunities and the benefits they offer. AlloSource is leading the way in cellular and tissue therapies. This workshop is open to any CWEE participant. Stay tuned for the registration link.

Health & Resource Fair and Food Bank!
This is a day of free services and support: Health checkups, Medicaid enrollment, vaccines, food assistance, immigration guidance, and more. Plus, a limited number of turkeys will be available! Connect with valuable resources for you and your family. Arapahoe Santa Claus Shop
The Arapahoe Santa Claus Shop located in Littleton is a nonprofit supporting families in Littleton, Englewood, and Sheridan. They provide holiday gifts for children, from infant through 10 years. You must register by Saturday, 11/23 to be eligible to shop in December. Selections include, dolls, books, art activities, bikes, games and age appropriate toys. CDL Training for Justice Impacted Individuals
Emerge Career has free and limited scholarships available to individuals who have experienced incarceration, probation, parole, a diversion program, or have an arrest record. Benefits: A dedicated coach, transportation support, and job placement. The average income is $75,000. Admissions are on a rolling basis, so apply ASAP! Weekly Food Pantry
Denver Inner City Parish offers a weekly in person pantry serving up to 160 people. Select protein, fresh produce, dry goods, and other ingredients to make several meals throughout the week! All are welcome. No ID required. The pantry is held Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. New participants can walk in during business hours, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., to receive a one-time emergency food box. Denver Santa Claus Shop
The Denver Santa Claus Shop is a nonprofit that gives families the opportunity to shop for free toys each December. Registration to participate this year opens on Friday, 11/15 at 8:00 a.m. so be sure to visit their website early! Denver residents only. You must be receiving services from Denver Human Services or a Community Partner (Denver Public Schools, Head Start, VOA, churches, and others) and must have one child 11 years or younger. LEARN MORE

Emergency Shelter for Families
Mile High Behavioral Healthcare announced their services have transitioned from aiding single adults to now supporting families! MHBH understands the unique struggles families encounter. All families are invited to visit the cold-weather family shelter, enjoy a warm meal, a hot shower, and a safe place away from the elements.
