Empowerment

Begins Here.

CWEE’s Team Continues to Grow!

CWEE is completing the transition of our employment support programs to an online, widely accessible format and brining on new talent to support our mission.

We are excited to announce four new talented professionals joining our staff!

  • Scott Brackney, TANF Specialist
  • Mike Christner, Career Advisor Lead
  • Diane Elio, TANF Specialist
  • Michelle Tenorio, Career Advisor Lead

Here’s a bit about each of CWEE’s new hires and the varied experience they bring.

Scott Brackney, TANF Specialist

Scott brings 10 years of experience in nonprofit settings. Scott is stepping away after six years as an Certification Specialist with Easter Seals to join CWEE as a TANF Specialist. In his most recent role, Scott served a large caseload by providing paratransit services to community members, allowing them to live more independently. He is excited to more holistically support our CWEE participants with the resources needed to move toward stable employment. Scott brings compassion that runs deep for both the individuals he is serving and the colleagues he is working alongside.

Mike Christner, Career Advisor Lead

Mike has served as a Senior TANF Employment Coach for the last 16 years with the Larimer County TANF Works Program where he has strived to meet participants where they are, remove systemic barriers, and support participants in setting their own goals to move forward. He brings skills and experience in building executive functioning, supervision and is a relationship builder at his core. Mike’s draw to CWEE was his alignment with the shared belief that when an appropriate level of education and support is offered that individuals can and will succeed.

Diane Elio, TANF Specialist

Diane is wrapping up her grant-funded position as a Reporting and Compliance Manager with Catholic Charities USA to start as a TANF Specialist for CWEE. Prior to that role, Diane served as the Emergency Assistance Program Manager with Catholic Charities Denver where she managed Colorado’s first statewide disaster recovery program in response to the 2013 floods in Colorado. In seeking a new position that allowed her to utilize her skillsets in compliance and reporting while aligning her values of supporting vulnerable populations, Diane was thrilled to find CWEE.

Michelle Tenorio, Career Advisor Lead

Michelle is hands-on professional who believes in leading by example and serving as a change agent, which she did for 25 years in progressive roles with the City and County of Denver. In addition to a deep understanding of workforce, Michelle brings a unique perspective of understanding CWEE’s mission as a CWEE alumni and Silver Flame recipient. Michelle is motivated to be giving back and working one-on-one with our participants as CWEE has always held a special place in her heart.
