Empowerment

Begins Here.

Expanding Trauma-Informed Mental Health Support for Career Seekers

With support from Denver voters and the Caring for Denver Foundation, CWEE will expand our trauma-informed mental health services for low-income job seekers and their families.

Providing access to mental health counseling is core to CWEE’s approach to workforce development, and we have a full-time mental health clinician on our staff. The new funding will allow CWEE to add another experienced clinician to our team, develop a peer support program, and extend mental health counseling to the family members of our career seekers.

Caring for Denver Foundation was established following voters’ approval of a ballot measure in 2018 to increase funding for mental health services and substance misuse treatment for city residents. Caring for Denver Foundation recently announced $14.6 million in investments in local nonprofits that are making it easier for people to access the support they need. Learn more about the funding and other organizations receiving support here.

Katy Hamilton, CWEE’s Executive Director, was recently featured on Denver 7 News. Check out the one-minute clip below.
